For many years AFCC has been a place where new ideas and old ones come together to be discussed and worked with. I have enjoyed the chapter meeting in Arizona and the regular meetings in many states and have learned as much from the people attending as I have from the folks who have presented. There are many issues in Wisconsin now concerning families that are closely tied to custody and placement decisions and the information from AFCC helps with understanding how to better look at the issues regarding practice and policy. It would be nice to have a Chapter here in Wisconsin that would do similar things.

AFCC is the best inter-disciplinary organization that produces a great journal, excellent conferences, and excellent training opportunities. The collegiality and support of the members is perhaps the most useful membership benefit. After attendance at a conference or raining program, I always feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle the difficult families and work that we do.

This chapter offers a state-wide group crossing several disciplines involved with family court that can provide a great opportunity for discussion of ideas, research, policies, and practices.
